AUSTIN, Texas – Sept 11, 2018 /Canna Newswire/ – The North Austin Academy of Cannabis Science is now open and enrolling students who want to learn about the budding marijuana industry. The school will operate under the franchise of Pharmacology University; an innovate group of entrepreneurs with more than one-hundred-years of combined experience in the fields of medicine, science, marketing, federal law, and business management. The North Austin Academy of Cannabis Science group is comprised of Austin-area doctors, lawyers, and entrepreneurs. Each member shares the common goal of teaching the community about the array of benefits marijuana offers.
“Our main objective is to provide educational seminars for those who are interested in truly learning about the marijuana industry,” said EJ Jackson, North Austin Academy of Cannabis Science director. “We want the general public to get onboard and lobby for legislation that will help bring cannabis to those who need it in the states of Texas, Florida, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.”
North Austin Academy of Cannabis Science is offering flexible, five-week courses beginning Saturday, October 13th through November 10th, 2018. The curriculum is designed to help students understand the practical and theoretical needs of cannabis sciences. The academy also offers job opportunities within the cannabis science field, plus the chance to visit cultivation and extraction centers in Denver, Colorado. Students who pass all three courses also have the choice to continue their cannabis education through a master’s program in cannabis science.
“We want to make it clear that this is a growing industry for professionals looking to expand their career opportunities,” said Jackson. “Which is why we also offer a course unique to lawyers interested in integrating medical cannabis as part of their area of legal practice.”
Jackson emphasizes that the academy in North Austin is hyper-focused on the therapeutic and medicinal benefits of cannabis. Students learn about the cultivation, dispensing and oil extraction of the cannabis plant. The classes are also aimed to “clear the air” so to speak when it comes to medical marijuana.
“If you really break it down, cannabis is a family of plants,” said Jackson. “It includes hemp and marijuana. They are very similar, but not the same.”
Twenty-nine states have legalized marijuana use in some form. The North Austin Academy of Cannabis Science is pushing for Texas to do the same.
The North Texas Academy of Cannabis Science is offering Medical Cannabis Courses on Saturdays only. The first of which will begin Saturday, October 13th – November 10th, 2018 and again Saturday, December 21st – December 29th, held from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm, for each series of classes.
